چکیده

The activity of Pt and Au nanoparticles catalysts over titania support for carbon monoxide oxidation was investigated. were synthesised by a high-throughput physical vapour deposition methodology (HT-PVD). A parallel thermographic screening methodology, which enabled the quantification CO reaction, applied. particle size effect in catalytic observed, with smallest particles exhibiting highest activity. increased temperature. catalyst displayed high at 80 ℃, while had higher 170 ℃. Although on is size-dependent, results show that exhibits strongest dependence as compared to catalyst.

Population and hierarchy of active species in gold iron oxide catalysts for carbon monoxide oxidation

The identity of active species in supported gold catalysts for low temperature carbon monoxide oxidation remains an unsettled debate. With large amounts of experimental evidence supporting theories of either gold nanoparticles or sub-nm gold species being active, it was recently proposed that a size-dependent activity hierarchy should exist. Here we study the diverging catalytic behaviours afte...

Oxidation of benzyl alcohol and carbon monoxide using gold nanoparticles supported on MnO2 nanowire microspheres.

MnO2 was synthesised as a catalyst support material using a hydrothermal method. This involved reacting MnSO4⋅H2O and (NH4)2S2O8 at 120 °C for a range of crystallisation times, which affords control over the morphology and phase composition of the MnO2 formed. Gold was deposited on these supports using sol-immobilisation, impregnation and deposition precipitation methods, and the resultant mate...

Operando atomic structure and active sites of TiO2(110)-supported gold nanoparticles during carbon monoxide oxidation.

It is well known that gold nanoparticles supported on TiO2 act as a catalyst for CO oxidation, even below room temperature. Despite extensive studies, the origin of this catalytic activity remains under debate. Indeed, when the particle size decreases, many changes may occur; thus modifying the nanoparticles' electronic properties and consequently their catalytic performances. Thanks to a state...

Catalytic Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide by Cobalt Oxide Catalysts Supported on Oxidized-MWCNT

Cobalt oxide catalysts supported on oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) for the low-temperature catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide were prepared by an impregnation-ultrasound method. These catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption, TEM, XRD, Raman, and H2-TPR methods. The XRD and Raman results indicated that the phase of the synthesized cobalt...

Self-sustained carbon monoxide oxidation oscillations on size-selected platinum nanoparticles at atmospheric pressure.

High-quality mass spectrometry data of the oscillatory behavior of CO oxidation on SiO(2) supported Pt-nanoparticles at atmospheric pressure have been acquired as a function of pressure, coverage, gas composition and nanoparticle size. The oscillations are self-sustained for several days at constant temperature, pressure and CO/O(2) ratio. The frequency of the oscillations is very well defined ...
